Found at the SP Lompoc Branch which diverges from the coast route at Surfalong with another caboose apparently in MOW service. The cupola car is a former D&RGW car and in pretty rough shape. The doors are welded shut, but the interior is intact, although covered in graffiti (All windows are broken out) It did sport 2 new brake hoses, and rust free wheel sets indicating frequent use. The bay window car is in really good shape despite it's graffiti. All in all, a pretty good day- 2 cabooses still in use on one branch line of a class 1 railroad in 2008!
