The railroad track is from Tegernsee to Muenchen (Photographed from the driver´s cab of a railcar of the BOB (Bayerische Oberland Bahn They have an English version of the web site). The first group is from 2004 while Helmut Faderl was while visiting the operators stand just after a new snow fall. Very beautiful pictures.
These next pictures are of a 2004 visit of a 4-6-2 steam engine. Notice the passenger cars look a lot like ours except for the sliding windows. According to Helmet, a few times in the year there are historical rides with these old machines. Normally the steam engines come from the “Deutsches Dampflokomotiv Museum” in Neuenmarkt . You can buy for this “extra tour” a normal Ticket from the DB. The tour takes most about 8 hours. For example from Nuernberg to Wien (Austria) or other cities.
